We’ve outfitted this telescope with two diagonals: a 90-degree star diagonal, which provides a convenient viewing angle for looking upward when stargazing. And a 45-degree correct-image diagonal for daytime terrestrial observing, when things need to appear right-side-up. Pop the 90-degree diagonal and an eyepiece in the aluminum rack-and-pinion focuser and enjoy crisp, wide-field views of the heavens by virtue of its 400mm focal length (f/5), 80mm-diameter (3.1″) achromatic lens. Target Milky Way star fields, or the rugged surface of the Moon with the aid of the included Orion MoonMap 260. We bet you’ll be suitably impressed. Antireflection multi-coatings on the optics ensure the images will be bright and vivid. Or insert the 45-degree correct-image diagonal and either the included 25mm (16x) or 10mm (40x) Sirius Plossl eyepiece and explore your surroundings when the Sun is up. The 6×26 correct-image finder scope helps you home in on your subject. Navigating the telescope couldn’t be easier with the VersaGo GX altazimuth mount. Just grasp the pan handle of the all-aluminum mount head and smoothly point the telescope. For fine movements you’ve got a knurled slow-motion knob on both the altitude and azimuth axes. The tripod features extendable aluminum legs and a twist-in accessory tray. Total assembled weight of the VersaGo GX 80ST Refractor is 8 lbs., 13.6 oz.
