“This 6’ Guppy is great for small kids and pre-teens (under 100lbs is best). It’s our thickest surfboard that we carry and this is meant to add as much float and paddle ability to the board. This makes it way easier to paddle and catch waves with, making it a very fun experience for beginner surfers. The length and thickness and overall general shape is best for surfing crumbly whitewash and waves up to 2’ – for brand new beginners (we do not recommend learning in surf bigger than 2’ unless you are with an instructor in the water). The basic beginner boards simply feature better quality materials, stronger construction, and better aesthetic design. 90% of soft top surfboard brands make pretty much the same type of board with no real guts inside the board to help them prepare for the heavy action they are going to take from beginners learning how to surf (such as shallow water & waves slamming the board into sand).
